I should always recycle the takeaway leaflets that make their way through our letterbox. That’s this week’s lesson any how, but when it landed on my mat and saw it was Burger King, I felt disbelief and shock. So, naturally, I showed my fiance and laughed, but he took it to a more serious level.
All the prices are like a regular Take away’s set meals and no options are cheap in Burger King’s case, but i understand to operate this service, it won’t come cheap. And to think it seemed expensive enough, to my surprise, delivery was not even included.
As expected, don’t expect things to be piping hot, but the temperature was ok. We opted for the Super Bundle for 2 at £20 which got us 2 large double cheese burger XL’s, 2 fries, chilli bites, onion rings, a chocolate hottie each along with 2 bottled drinks.
I don’t think the food was too dissimilar to ordering straight from a counter, but one thing must be said when comparing to other takeaways, there were no sauces, condiments or napkins at all. When paying a total of 21.20 for these two of meals, I expect the little bits that say they care and “please come again”. This meant we were left with scraping the barrel from our own bbq sauce, but I suppose I should be thankful there was no washing up tonight.
And by the time I got to the hottie chocolate brownie, I was so full, I couldn’t finish it and partly because it really wasn’t my thing. It was rather greasy and didn’t want to eat what I wasn’t enjoying.
It would be interesting if McDonalds and KFC do start challenging Burger King, but surely we could do without temptation. My fiance and I have agreed, we’ve tried it now and that will be our last.
What’s your thoughts on the new delivery service? And do you have to hide the leaflets before you other half sees it?
