I never really had a naughty “cheat night” while I was at a slimming club. For those of you who aren’t aware, it’s usually when you’ve been good all week and then after weigh in, some friends would like to indulge to keep their sanity and start afresh the following day.
And I don’t want to make too many excuses, but some times when life gives you lemons (or you’ve been working reaaaally hard grafting at something), I personally think those are the times when I like to keep myself sane and give myself a break.
So cutting things short, a couple of weeks ago, I received this lovely Degustabox* full of food goodies in the post for free to review. I was originally going to film me opening it, but with a bad bout of the dreaded TTOTM and having the wool pulled over my eyes at my car’s dealership when trying to get my brake pads changed (I’ll report back on that later), I haven’t had the time and gosh, do I need a treat night.
And this box is mostly full of things I’ve never heard of or would necessarily have picked up, so it feels a bit like a friend’s recommendation (or when I’ve found nibbles that made their way in the trolley while shopping with my fiance). But it’s a great opportunity to try something new and different. As for the selection, it really does offers a mixed variety that’s relatively health conscious, eg cereal, condiments, gluten free and low calorie or nutritious drinks and snack pots; even down to a cheeky lager.
In my August box, this is what I received:
- Tabasco sauce
- Clipper Green Tea
- Thai Noodles NutriPot
- Moriccan Couscous NutriPot
- Dorset Cereal with a cool scooper (*LOVE LOVE LOVE!)
- Vitamin drink
- Olives (pack of olies)
- Mahou lager
- Mango chutney
- Willy Chases’s Fit Popcorn
- 2 packets of Rakusen’s Plain & Gluten Free Snackers (crackers)
The choice is exciting and for 12.99 a month (including p&p), from what I gather, it’s full of 10-15 different treats in each time delivery and would make a lovely affordable little hamper as a gift too. It’s also a bonus that it all has a long shelf life too.
I do think, or at least in our case, this is the perfect camping survival box now that our camper’s fixed or maybe for when we’re glued to our sofa and binge watching shows on Netflix!
