A Christmas full of camping is the best way to spend a festive holiday (in a campervan with electric that is).
The moment we could, we headed for the south coast on the 23rd December, beginning with a night in Weymouth. (Don’t worry, you can watch my vlog below straight from my YouTube channel). Then took the ferry from Plymouth to Cornwall where settled for two nights in Looe to meet up with relatives for family gatherings.
We opened our presents in the camper and made a point of not meeting up (or interfering) on their Christmas dinner so we could christen our new camper with our own cooking in lazy fashion using Tesco’s finest. Everything was lush apart from their roast beef gravy which was far too sweet and white wine-rich for my liking. Oh, and supped on Cornish cider and stuffed our cheeks with clotted cream shortbread biscuits while I was introduced to Star Wars for the first time in adulthood.
After spending Christmas evening with plentiful glasses of warm mulled wine chitchat with family, we woke up on Boxing Day on our campsite which looked down on Looe harbour and then headed for coffees and naughty pasties on the beach. Yummy!
