I’ve been really getting in to the art of food blogging lately and focusing less on filming for my YouTube channel. Each day I have been waiting for the hope of a being able to buy a much better camera. And a lot of inspiration comes from the photos on the blog, BestDayBlogger. Maria takes simply refreshing pictures and I love her pure white clean backgrounds and so after a bit of fun practising with every recipe, I loved depicting today’s gloriously sunny day. I started work this week in my favourite room in the house, my conservatory and eventually had to put on my shades and the air con. I also brought some of my veg seedlings out of the greenhouse so they could adjust to outdoors and they perked them up instantly.
And so today’s gorgeous weather felt perfect to use up the blueberries and blackberries that I found last week for the smoothie recipe which inspired me on BestDayBlogger’s blog, Berry Energetic Smoothie.
The blackberries were too good a price not to pick up but having never tried the in a smoothie before, I was a little worried it would taste quite tart. This was easily fixed by adding an extra tablespoon of honey.
I also got a chance to use my first sachet of chia seeds I’d picked up about a month ago and I think it was a great source of energy as I wasn’t as hungry by dinner so could spend a little more time putting some love in to another creation.
I was sad when I’d got to the end of my cup, but there’s always tomorrow for a new combination and hopefully some more lovely weather please.
Here’s the link to Best Day Blogger’s original recipe.
I am posting my slightly adapted version below as hemp hearts and matcha were not accessible to me.
1 cup of oat milk
1 cup of blueberries
1 cup of blackberries
8g sachet of chia seeds
2 tbsp of clear honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp mixed sunflower and pumpkin seeds
Blend altogether, pour & I hope you enjoy!
