For months my mum has been bragging about the Crawshaw’s butcher’s head office retail shop in Hellaby near Rotherham and has kept telling me “I’m not going to Morrison’s for meat any more!” So today, with a planned visit to see my parents and to pick out a new kitchen, I also took a cool box with me and stored my ice packs in their freezer until we were ready to fill at the end of the day. Oh and that was my dinner sorted for when I got home!
And if you live near by, you may or may not know about this place, but if you don’t, you may want to pay a visit to make some savings like I did over the Winter or coming up to Christmas. Don’t expect to see any Turkeys on their shelves yet thought, but I did get the following leaflet with offers which I’ve scanned if you think it would be useful.
And I am so sorry for the poor lighting in the photos; I didn’t get home until 6pm and needed to divide them in to portions soon after to fit it all in to the freezer.
All the meat has coloured stickers, price pointed in to groups, so you will find many 5 for £10, 5 for £20 or 3 for £20, all varying from small portions to big ones.
I’m particularly looking forward to the rump steak, which are huge and each large one should feed two people and know my fiance will be asking for some pork crackling while I focus on the lean stuff. There’s also a vast amount of sausages which I avoided to avoid unnecessary fats and a fresh butchers counter where I bought 5% extra lean minced beef at £4.38 per kg.
If you want to go and check it out, it is the Crawshaw’s Head Office shop, which is also their distribution on Sandbeck Way, Hellaby Industrial Estate, Rotherham, S66 8QL. Looking at their site, they have a handful of regular butchers in the Yorkshire and Derbyshire area, but am not sure they sell these kind of offers on the raw stuff, but my parents insist they offer a lot of cooked meat in their high street shops.
