Stuck for something healthy to eat in a morning? Then here’s a list of 12 Slimming World breakfast recipe ideas to help you start the day like a king!
Most days I need to make sure I start my day off with a good, wholesome and filling breakfast to help stay on plan. But I don’t always have lots of time to cook Full English breakfasts for the family.
Most of us know how to do a Syn Free fry-up, so instead, I’ve put together a list of 12 Slimming World breakfast ideas to sink your teeth in to.
But what you’ll find is I like to try and vary it in a morning. It can be so easy to have the same healthy breakfast for weeks on end. And then all too easy to completely get bored of it and not make it for months later. This is me speaking from experience.
ORGANISATION TIPS FOR MAKING A SLIMMING WORLD BREAKFAST
I think the biggest struggle is having time to fit a Slimming World breakfast in to our schedule. I’ve done many things to get organised before work or morning exercises, so thought I’d share them if they helped you too.
- Weigh your cereals the night before and store in sealed porridge containers. I use these ones, or a mug style.
- Mix or prepare any recipes the night where possible
- Have a Full English cooking on low while you’re getting ready or doing any morning exercise routines. I.e, pan frying eggs and bacon on low.
- Try not to make a big thing out of it. It’s better to get fuel rather than over complicate it you’re struggling.
ARE HEALTHY EXTRAS BEST FOR A SLIMMING WORLD BREAKFAST
The other issue I often face is worrying about is using Healthy Extras so soon in the day. So where possible, I like to try and save them for teas and coffees or sometimes a late night craving.
It really depends on how you and your body works. For example, right now, I am loving the simplicity of 50g of All Bran with skimmed milk for my Slimming World breakfast. But I think the changes in the seasons also play a massive factor too.
And with that in mind, you’ll find a good mix of Slimming World recipes below. Some of which you may not have even seen before, including some unusual but incredible combinations.
STAYING FULL FOR LONGER
I’m the kind of girl who can’t work on an empty stomach. So, for example, if you see me over at my DIY channel, The Carpenter’s Daughter, I can’t run on light breakfasts if I know I’ll be away from the kitchen.
To truly keep me satisfied, I opt for recipes fuelled with plenty lean protein, such as bacon and eggs. Occasionally an addititonal Syn Free Omelette. Deep down I’m not a massive fan of cereals, but they’re ok if I know I can whip something else up dead on 12.
Another thing worth recommending is that after I’d do a Gillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred exercise, each morning I would have a huge fry up. And I still kept losing weight. So don’t assume you need to eat something tiny!
