Disclosure: I was sent these beautiful Denby pieces free of charge in return for a recipe and review. As always, all opinions are truthful and I genuinely love Denby so much that most of my recipes are served in them.
Being a food blogger, sometimes all it takes to inspire me in the kitchen is a new set of crockery. I've basically been a Denby lover since I was old enough to independently window shop and dream away my future.
It's no longer a dream and what's surprised me over the years is how much conversation my Halo and Natural Canvas has always sparked too with like-minded people.
It usually goes something like this. "Ooooh, Denby? When we got married, we got Denby in 19XX and I've still got it."
Last Christmas I was also lucky enough to find out how all the pieces were handcrafted from start to finish. If you're curious like I was, here's my video that you might enjoy. I even had a go at glazing and adding trim, which I must say, is harder than it looks!
And this week, I got to meet their latest new range, Studio Craft which will be out in June, so here's an exciting sneak preview! This is the first time I've laid my eyes on them and so far, we love their natural, earthy rustic tones. As soon as I sent my fiance a picture of them all laid out, he described them as pebbles on a beach. I think that matches them well.
Most of the pieces also come in very familiar shapes, making them great for mixing and matching with my existing ranges. But my absolute favourite here has to be the textured large serving bowl. In fact, this was the main inspiration of today's healthy and nourishing family recipe, called Bigos (aka Polish Hunter's Stew).
After recently telling my Mum that I'd made my last recipe, a healthy Polish pork chop (side note: my Mum's best friend is Polish), Mum started reeling off a list of other recipes we'd also eaten. They were things like Golabki (stuffed cabbage leaves), Perogi (dumplings), and this one.
Bigos isn't traditionally syn free and usually has a range of meat, like pork and bacon. It's also usually made with a spicy Polish sausage and mushrooms which I never had in, so I've adapted it very loosely.
But it was the perfect recipe centre piece for us to tuck in to and fill our plates with plenty of vibrant side dishes I whipped up around it. I think this is what a wholesome family meal is all about!
Also, there's going to be a giveaway next month, so you might want to subscribe if you haven't already to find out when it is.
So now I've told you my favourite crockery, what is yours?
