Hi, I'm Vikkie...
cook, creator, and slightly chaotic farm-and-DIY enthusiast behind Tastefully Vikkie. I grew up in a hands-on family running a woodyard in Yorkshire, England, where hard work was part of everyday life, and Mum always made sure we were fed with comforting, home-cooked meals.
By 2015, my love of simple, wholesome food had become the heart of this blog, originally as a way to escape the chaos of renovating our first home. To my delight, it grew into a wonderful community of readers who also love easy, tried-and-tested recipes made with real ingredients.
I now live in a peaceful coastal village in Lincolnshire on a 4-acre farm with my husband and our Border Collie, Hans. My favourite things to do are beach dog walks, growing veg to eat, and pushing my limits while renovating our once-flooded house that we bought at auction.

Food Is My Happy Place
Everything you see on Tastefully Vikkie is food I love to cook and eat myself. No complicated ingredients, (almost) no ultra-processed shortcuts - just tasty, wholesome recipes that are easy to make.
My hope is that you'll find recipes here easy to fit into your busy real life, whether you're feeding yourself, your family, or a table full of guests. I want you to feel that getting creative in the kitchen can be fun and therapeutic, and that you can't wait to get cooking!
And if you ever recreate one of my recipes, I'd truly LOVE to see what you made. I'd be very grateful if you tagged me on @tastefullyvikkie on Instagram, whether it's a post or a story. They brighten up my days ❤️

Life Beyond the Kitchen
On top of creating new recipes, I also share home renovation projects on my Carpenter's Daughter DIY blog and DIY YouTube channel to inspire people to be their own interior designers.
- Travel: We love an adventure and started touring all around the UK in 2013 with our first camper van. Then we lived on a narrowboat in 2021 before settling on our farm. Read more here.
- TV & Radio Work: In 2019, I appeared as the TV carpenter in Series 1 of Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh on ITV and am also a regular guest on various BBC radio stations, chatting all things about the DIY industry. Learn more here.
- Renovating a Flooded Home: In September 2023, we bought our flooded farmhouse, which we've been remodelling ourselves, like replacing missing ceilings, laying oak parquet flooring, etc. You can see what we've been up to here.
- Farm life: In 2024, we started growing our own veg (and sometimes too much), to be a little more self-sufficient each year. But for 2026, we're now building a chicken pen for a non-stop supply of fresh eggs. Check it out here.
- Italian Roots: In 2025, I decided to dust down my once-used pasta machine and delve into the small part of my Italian heritage. I've been making pasta from scratch once a week ever since. Read more here.
- Hans: Our Tri Border Collie, Hans joined the family in 2012 and pops up in most of our DIY adventures. He's sweet, always by my side and absolutely obsessed with cheese. Spot him here.
