This amazing toffee apple spice dump cake from scratch is baked with a layer of fresh apples and raisins in sugar and spice. Topped with an easy chewy and crisp salted caramel cake that takes like toffee popcorn. It's quick, eggless, and doesn't make a mess in the kitchen as it works like magic in the tray!
Preheat your oven at 160c fan / 180c / Gas mark 4 / 350F
Grease a 30cm x 20cm baking dish or similar with butter.
Add the apple dump cake filling to the baking dish, mix well and spread out evenly.
In a separate bowl, mix the dump cake topping together, then sprinkle on top of the apple mixture. Tip: shake the dish side to side for the yellow cake mixture to cover the apples evenly
Pour the melted butter on top, again, shaking side to side so everything has had a coating.
Scatter the dark muscovado sugar on the top randomly, then bake in the oven for 45 minutes until it's bubbling along the egdes.
Leave to cool slightly before serving with custard
