I love the Summer, the chance to wear prettier clothes, classic seasonal nautical themes, and be able to do more outdoory things. But every year, when I feel sticky, I feel heavier like I’ve swollen, hence feeling fatter and want to step it up a bit. Last year’s changes were completing Jillian’s The 30 Day Shred, Killer Buns & Thighs, Erin Motz Yoga and started the c25k programme. I was super lean, on the bonier side and at times felt faint as I was juggling life with living on building site (almost anyhow). It was unrealistic to do high intensity interval training daily and it took someone to tell me to do more light stretchy things like yoga mixed with running and instantly felt relief. If you do the 30 Day Shred and most of her exercise videos, the majority focus on fat burning and being quite inexperienced in terms of exercise (I knew I should do it), I got caught up in it. I was a target member (and still am) but after changing to a mix of HIIT and lighter things to tone up, I found a better balance with fitness, work and home. Anyway, getting back to Jillian, last year I tried her suggested Detox Water for 7 days and if I remember rightly, I lost 3lb and so I’ve decided to do it again starting tomorrow or Saturday. I don’t like dandelion tea on its own, but the cranberry adds a little sweetness balancing it out so doesn’t taste nearly as bad as it sounds. Some websites claim if helps you lose up to 5lb of excess water and one signs of that area should be bags disappearing under the eyes. Being a paranoid in my early 30’s, I am already sold on repeating the Detox for the latter reason. Please don’t get too hung up on this 7 Day detox on whether you should do anything else differently; I just continued a Slimming World friendly plan and continued my Jillian exercises. Jillian’s 7 Day Detox Water Recipe
1.7 ltrs water 1 tbsp pure cranberry juice (with no additives) 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 Dandelion root tea bag (mine are Twinings from Tesco) Just combine everything together (split the ingredients and make twice if you don’t have a big enough jug/container) and drink through the day for 7 days.
