This easy healthy baked oats recipe is a nutritious way to start the day for the whole family. Baked in the oven, this healthy breakfast option is low fat, low calorie, and can be enhanced with your favourite flavour combinations.
First, preheat your oven to gas mark 4/160c fan/180c/350F.Then if preferred, you can mill the oats into flour with a food processor or stick blender.
Now mix all the wet ingredients together in a small oven proof dish or oven safe mug/cup. (I use a Denby cup).
Now stir in the all of dry ingredients until smooth.
Gently stir in your fresh fruit - I use mixed blueberries and raspberries. Then bake in the oven for 30 minutes, and serve with yogurt or cream, more berries, and a drizzle of maple syrup or honey.

Notes
Avoid pre-soaking them the night before in the mix before baking as it can make them mushy, resulting in soggy baked oats
If you want a baked oats cake texture, I recommend blending all of the ingredients in a food processor, but it's still delicious if you don't
For Gluten Free ensure the oat manufacturer guarantees GF on the packaging
For a more moist texture, add another egg, or add double the fruit
You can swap oat flour for the same amount of Ready Brek. It comes out slightly denser, but does work
