Notes
Avoid using quick cook oats, as it will turn mushy like wallpaper paste
You can grease the sides of the slow cooker pot with butter to prevent it from sticking or use a liner to help clean up later
To reheating, it may thicken like a jelly, so we recommend loosening with a little water first
Line the slow cooker lid with tin foil to conceal all moisture while cooking
To slow down the cooking if you want to cook for longer, place scrunched-up tin foil in the bottom for another baking dish to sit on and surround it with a water bath, then fill the 2nd bowl with porridge ingredients
If using pinhead oats (steel cut), it takes longer to cook, so handles better in a slow cooker over low heat overnight
