This Slimming World chicken noodle soup recipe is not only irresistible, it’s syn free and pan or soup maker friendly.
I absolutely love this chicken noodle soup. It’s so delicious, but there’s always been a short window of opportunity to take a better photo of it.
I’m sure that’s because it’s so comforting, we tend to eat it on colder days or when we’re feeling under the weather and need a boost.
It’s also perfect for Slimming World as it’s syn free, full of speedy vegetables and almost no fat in sight!
IS SLIMMING WORLD CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP HEALTHY?
Slimming World chicken noodle soup is a delicious, healthy recipe and perfect for weight loss if you wish. At around 179 calories per bowl, I love how it’s also Syn Free with almost no fats.
It also has plenty of vitamins from the vegetables and helps me feel fuller from lean protein.
I believe there really is no need to add extra fats to this recipe as the ginger, garlic and spring onions adds enough flavour.
CAN YOU MAKE SLIMMING WORLD CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP IN A SOUP MAKER?
Slimming World chicken noodle soup is perfect to cook in a soup maker. In fact, I developed this recipe for my Morphy Richards Soup Maker to reach the 1600ml capacity line.
All you need to do is use a large frying pan to turn the chicken in to golden bite size pieces in low calorie oil spray. Then add all the vegetables, herbs and spices to remove their water so we can leave in the rich, sweet flavours.
Without doing so, the soup won’t be as intense, so it is worth giving it a little bit of time. Then chuck all the chicken, veg and everything else in your soup maker and cooking on “chunky”.
SLIMMING WORLD CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP ON THE HOB
Cooking this Slimming World chicken noodle soup couldn’t be easier on the hob. In fact, it’s a one pan wonder!
Instead of a frying pan, opt for a deep based pan. Then golden the chicken, saute the veg and add everything else and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes. Or until everything is tender.
What I love about this method is that I can catch every flavour from the bottom of the pan so nothing is lost.
CAN YOU FREEZE SLIMMING WORLD CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP?
Slimming World chicken noodle soup is great for freezing.
If I have leftovers, I find these portioned out microwavable soup mug containers brilliant. They are secure clip top lids with a vent and perfect in the freezer and dishwasher too.
I often place my soups in the freezer for up to two months and my fridge for up to 5 days to be safe. However, when it comes to defrosting, I usually cheat and microwave immediately for around 10 minutes, stirring in between.
SLIMMING WORLD CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP WITHOUT EGG NOODLES
Sometimes, I don’t always have egg noodles in the house. So some alternative ingredients you could use:
- Dried spaghetti, snapped in half
- Vermicelli noodles
- Spiralised carrots
- Syn Free straight to wok noodles (refer to the Slimming World app)
All of these are pan and soup maker friendly.
