This delicious Gluten Free toad in the hole recipe is made using blended oat flour. It's the perfect sausage in batter recipe for a roast dinner.

Before I start delving into this Gluten Free recipe, I need to to point out that I don't have a gluten intolerance. However, this recipe for toad in the hole is something I love. Especially for times I don't have regular plain flour in.
This may resonate for many of you who have also struggling getting your mitts on a bag during a lockdown. Finding any kind of flour has been a painstaking task, so I've been using whatever I can.
There's one thing I think that's vital for this recipe, though. And that's a good, solid blender to mill basic porridge oats. And it will get you as close to a traditional toad in the hole as possible in my opinion.

Can I Use Any Kind of Oats for This Gluten Free Toad in the Hole?
As mentioned previously, I am not Gluten intolerant. But when making my own oat flour, I only use pure jumbo oats.
But to fully ensure you are eating Gluten Free oats if needed, it's important to choose oats that aren't processed in the same place as gluten-based ingredients.
This is to avoid cross-contamination with grains, such as wheat, barley and rye.
