This Slimming World hunter’s chicken is so easy and delicious. You won’t be able to tell it’s Syn Free!
I love a good hunter’s chicken. It’s a great recipe that can prepped in minutes, so I can leave my oven to do almost all of the work.
Usually, it’s rich with a BBQ sauce. But on this occasion, I’ve made it with a rich tomato sauce with a good sprinkling of Spanish smoked paprika.
It’s great when I can bring a bit of holiday back with me in to my recipes.
Slimming World hunter’s chicken has all my favourite ingredients.
It oozes with bubbling cheese, tomato, bacon and chicken.
The smoked paprika really pimps it up, leaving a good jus behind to drizzle if you wish.
HOW DO YOU MAKE SLIMMING WORLD HUNTER’S CHICKEN?
For this recipe, I’ve made it almost hassle free, but with plenty of flavour.
Firstly, I bake my chicken in the oven while covered, which is also wrapped in bacon. Meanwhile, I simmer the passata sauce with garlic and spices.
Once the chicken is done, I drizzle the rich paprika tom sauce over the chicken. And finally, sprinkle with plenty of cheese and bake in the oven around 15 minutes.
CAN I COOK SLIMMING WORLD HUNTER’S CHICKEN IN THE SLOW COOKER?
Actually, I haven’t tried Slimming World hunter’s chicken in the slow cooker yet. However, I will try it soon and update it here.
But if I were to do it, I would first place the bacon wrapped chicken breasts in to the slow cooker. Then pop everything else in, except leave the cheese for the last half an hour
You may also want to saute the garlic for a richer flavour as it won’t caramelise as much. Otherwise, add a dash of sweetener or similar.
IS SLIMMING WORLD HUNTER’S CHICKEN HEALTHY?
Yes, Slimming World hunter’s chicken is healthy. That is, providing you ensure you’re not using any extra oils and full fat cheese. However, a little bit here and there is perfectly fine.
It’s rather a filling dish due to the chicken’s protein and is around 349 calories per serving.
Although this dish is syn free, Slimming World recommend a 3rd of your plate to be “speed food”. These are typically vegetables, beans and pulses. All the things that are good for you.
CAN I FREEZE SLIMMING WORLD HUNTER’S CHICKEN?
Yes, you can free Slimming World hunter’s chicken. What you may prefer to do, is cook each chicken in freezeable dishes. Or, you could transfer to individual containers as well as left whole.
It’s best to keep it in the freezer for up to a month, or in the fridge for a maximum of 5 days. I get many great tips from my local café.
To reheat, I would definitely leave it to defrost in the fridge. Then cook covered with tinfoil in the oven as stated in the recipe. I wouldn’t bake uncovered as the cheese will probably burn.

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE SLIMMING WORLD HUNTER’S CHICKEN
Firstly, preheat your oven at 200 degrees. Then spray a baking dish with oil spray, then layer it with the chicken breasts.
Then wrap each chicken breast the two lean bacon medallions. And cover with tin foil and bake for 30 minutes.
While the chicken is baking, in a deep based pan, saute the garlic until tender. Then add the balsamic vinegar, passata, ginger and smoked paprika.
Now simmer over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Note, you may need to cover with a lid to prevent mess.
Once the chicken has finished, remove from the oven and pour the tomato sauce over the top. However, you may want to discard the juices, but I like to keep it for extra flavour.
Now evenly sprinkle the grated cheese on top. To help your cheese go a long way, I use this chef’s grater. It’s quite sharp, mind, so I always need to be careful when using.
Now place the chicken back in the oven for 15 minutes and serve.
